As a part-time Back-end Developer at Belsimpel you are able to acquire important programming skills during your studies. You are a fully-fledged member of a development team that works on a variety of interesting and challenging projects. This way, you will gain essential practical knowledge for your future career. The projects you work on are fun and impactful. It goes without saying that your workload will be adjusted to your available hours, allowing you to be fully responsible for your own code.
At Belsimpel, we believe your capabilities as a Back-end developer are most appreciated when you work on both interesting and important projects. This means that you won’t be left with simple, monotonous jobs that your colleagues don’t feel like doing. Instead, you have your own impactful project(s) to work on. Since this comes with its due share of responsibility, your colleagues have to be able to rely on your skills. Writing unit-tests, pushing updates for new product page info or developing new filters for our price comparison tool are just a few examples of projects you can work on.
You work on our website and a number of complex systems, which we designed ourselves to be used by our teams including customer service, purchasing and big data analysis. You learn a lot from us, but we also expect you to contribute new insights and knowledge that we can learn from. Flexibility is important to all of your colleagues. That is why we understand that you might need to work fewer hours during your exams, and if you have class during office hours, you can occasionally work outside of regular office hours. Many of our initial part-timers continue their careers with Belsimpel as full-time team members, so you’ll have plenty of career opportunities once you graduate.
Our developers are second to none. What we do is extremely complex; we are by no means system integrators. That is why our team is composed of a mix of intelligent colleagues who graduated recently and highly experienced developers who have been with us for years.
