Belsimpel | Gomibo donates to Close the Gap: over 500 people supported in gaining access to the digital world
This year, Belsimpel is opting for a meaningful Christmas initiative. Instead of sending Christmas packages to partners, the company is donating €7,500 to the non-profit organisation Close the Gap. This donation will provide over 500 people with access to digital tools such as phones, laptops, and tablets—a choice perfectly aligned with Belsimpel’s mission: giving people easy access to the digital world.
Specifically, Belsimpel supports the “Equipping Youth for Success” project by Skills Link Uganda with this donation. This initiative helps young people and women in Uganda by providing them with digital skills and access to technology, essential for their educational and professional development.
Bridging the digital divide
“Access to the internet via a smartphone or laptop is a powerful tool, essential for participating in society—not just here in the Netherlands, but globally,” said Jeroen Doorenbos, CEO of Belsimpel. “Our partnership with Close the Gap perfectly aligns with our vision that access to technology is not a luxury but a prerequisite for equal economic opportunities worldwide. We hope to contribute to a more connected and digital world for everyone.”
In addition to this Christmas initiative, Belsimpel donates a portion of the devices returned by customers to Close the Gap twice a year.
