Daniëlle's story
Working Student in Finance & Control Expertise
“Within Team Finance, there are many different opportunities. You can, for example, take on a range of tasks around accounts payable and receivable, or specialise in a specific area. This way, you can shape your own set of responsibilities. During my studies (MSc Finance and MSc Economics), I learn a lot of theory about financial processes, such as accounting, budgeting, and reporting. In my role, I apply this knowledge and learn how it works in practice. This work experience also helps me better understand the processes I learn about in my studies. What I learn, I can apply directly in the real world!”
“In addition to my tasks and administrative work, I also pick up a great deal, both consciously and unconsciously, about all the processes within an organisation. Since you collaborate closely with colleagues on the team, you quickly pick up their knowledge. This way, I’ve significantly improved my planning and Excel skills, which saves me quite a bit of time—even in my studies.”
“I think the atmosphere in the company is a huge advantage. Many activities are organised to help you get to know colleagues beyond your own team. I’m also an avid athlete, so you’ll often find me at the weekly boot camps, circuit training, and boxing classes that are (freely) organised by work. For me, this job is the perfect combination of gaining relevant experience while having a fun and enjoyable time with colleagues. I highly recommend it!”
