Why did you choose the Management Traineeship?

“After studying International Business, I wasn’t sure what my next step should be. The traineeship gave me the opportunity to figure that out: you develop a broad range of skills and discover your strengths and what drives you. What do you learn as a Management Trainee?

“The traineeship is truly an adventure. From the start, you’re in a leadership position with lots of responsibility. I led a team of about 30 people, which eventually grew to 50. That brought a lot of challenges, but also huge learning opportunities in leadership, process optimization, and project management. For example, I helped implement new (international) providers on our Belsimpel and Gomibo platforms.

Personal development is a key focus. The support you receive is tailored to your needs – from regular coaching sessions to peer intervision, book sessions, and trainings on giving feedback or running effective meetings. You don’t just grow professionally, but also develop skills you’ll use throughout your entire career.”

What moment stuck with you the most?

“In terms of work, I’m proud of my contribution to Gomibo’s international expansion. Setting up new processes for international providers was a big challenge, but it gave me so much energy. I also have great memories of a trainee outing: laser tag with a super competitive group – so typical Belsimpel!”

What does your career look like after the traineeship?

“After finishing the traineeship, I was ready for the next step. I discovered that I’m especially interested in understanding and improving processes. Thanks to conversations with my mentor, I got the chance to apply internally for a Product Owner role in the development department. Now I’m responsible for an engineering team focused on our checkout and order management systems. We work every day to improve these processes and create the best possible customer experience.
