On May 24, 2024 we are organizing the Gomibo Conference: a day where you can learn everything about working at Belsimpel/Gomibo, our teams and our mission. During the Gomibo Conference you get the unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of Belsimpel. You can work on cases that suit your interests, follow different workshops that are normally for colleagues only, and network with colleagues from different teams. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to have a professional LinkedIn photo taken. In addition, we organize fun games and contests – you can win great prizes!

The Gomibo Conference is intended for students from different disciplines: from Economics and Business Administration to Computer Science and Data Science!
The Conference is designed to be interesting for everyone: even the workshops and cases are tailored to the different interests and disciplines.

Strategy determination: what to do when you become your own competitor?​

  • Description: The telecommunication market has been shrinking for some years now. To continue growing, Belsimpel has decided to walk two different roads.. Expanding the reseller-business into Europe as Gomibo, as well as bringing our own software to the market as a SaaS-platform for other telecommunication companies. This helped us to keep growing the last couple of years. Now, we find ourselves in interesting situation. Gomibo is now directly competing with a brand new company in Germany. This other company is using our software platform which means we also benefit by them generating more traffic and sales. However, this might mean that Gomibo will not grow as much as we would like to. In this case it is up to you to tackle this situation: what is the strategy that you would pick and what company would you focus on?

Turning your software into a platform: from a monolith structure to separate services

  • Description: Our first SaaS customer is here. In this presentation we will tell you about the steps that we’ve taken to turn our software from a monolith structure to more dedicated services to serve our platform. Then we will zoom in on a specific service: our Warehousing system. We will tell you about the way we designed our warehouse for Belsimpel from a business analyst perspective. What do we have to change in our logistics to make sure we can cater our new customer? How do we than translate this into system that can run multiple warehouses? Not all these questions have been fully answered. In this interactive presentation you are challenged to think along and to come up with creative solutions for these questions

Next-Gen Marketing: connect Gen Z with Google Pixel​

  • Description: We have an exclusive partnership with Google and are partly responsible for the promotion in the Netherlands. As you probably know, the iPhone is really popular. 60% of Gen Z (generation born between 1996 - 2012) has an iPhone and a lot of these people do not even know that Google sells phones. How can we help Google to reach this generation? In this presentation we will tell you about our different marketing teams, how they work together and how to make a marketing plan based on a 360 degree digital marketing strategy. During the case you will work out a marketing plan, on behalf of Belsimpel, that will convince Gen Z to buy a Google Pixel phone. You will take the background information about Gen Z and the USPs (unique selling points) of the Google Pixel in consideration

  • Description: While looking for a job you will have to compete with a lot of other people. That is why it is important to have a good CV and be fully prepared for the job interview. With this workshop you will boost your application skills! We will talk about do’s and don’ts, practice with job interviews and give you lots of tips and tricks. At the end you will also have the chance to get your CV or LinkedIn page checked by our colleagues of the Talent and Recruitment department.
